My name is Tanya Alexanda and I am a professional photographer, specialising in weddings.

Tanya Alexanda Photography

I’m also a trained practicing therapist so, I’m highly practiced at reading people. This means I can be the best photographer to you, and your guests, on your special day. Nothing is too much trouble.

Coming from a very ‘non-creative’ background of Insurance and working in London as an IT Project Manager, it was time for a change of direction.

I re-trained as a hypnotherapist, Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner and Life and Business Coach, a part of my business which I still practice in today.

However, at the same time, I also got gifted my first DSLR, and the rest as they say ‘is history’.

My love of people and things that mean a lot to them means that my photography is not a ‘job’, it’s my passion. I spend all my waking hours (and many sleeping) dreaming up how next to use my gift of capturing precious moments in time for you, your family and your friends; but also for future generations.

The key to great photography is leaving a legacy, a footprint in the sand, for others to seek, follow and enjoy as though they were there by your side.

Head over and have a look at my gallery or my blog to see more of my work – if you’re thinking of booking me and would like to just chat first, then that’s great! I have a pretty fun style, I do become part of your special day in so many ways, it’s great that you can be assured you’ve made the right choice by speaking with me, and then if you’re happy, book an appointment! We get to sit down and discuss your special day in more detail!

I can’t wait to hear from you! Have a look on the Contact page for more details!

I also have my studio in Stonham Barns, if you’re about, stop by for a coffee.

People often ask what my ‘style’ is – I have a one word answer – fun. If you’re having fun during your photographs then this will show in your images. And lets face it, it can be a bit daunting having to work with a photographer, but I take time to also make sure that although we are having fun, I take care of tiny details like hand placement and head placement for the most flattering images.

“When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice.” - Robert Frank

This is me!

Height – 5’3″ (I come with a stepladder so don’t worry!)
Volume – quite loud when needed! Not quite fog-horn but close!
Dress – smart/comfortable – at every wedding I lay down at some point for a different angle on things – no matter what the weather!
Personality –  I’ve been described as part of the entertainment more than once – in the most lovingly way!
Interesting fact? – I don’t worry about guests with cameras! In fact if they stand beside me long enough they may get some hints and tips!
Statement that I live by? – “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” – Hunter S Thompson

My style of working

You could say the way that I work is unique, in as much as I’m a therapist and a photographer.  I have purposefully sought out a framework to work with my couples that bring emotion to every session we have together, so right from our pre-wedding shoot, you will see how this framework is put together to provide a place of trust allowing emotion to flow – we do some fun stuff, and some serious stuff – but always I’m there to support the process and to ensure you get the most beautiful images.
